Hello there,
I have 2 bug problems with search engines, which is follows. * I have submitted my site 5-6 times to google manually in last 15-20 days, but it still showing older version of indexed site. I have guessed this by entering my site URL in google search. Older version of our site didnt have title, but newer have a attractive title, hence if google indexed the newer tham it must show title and some of site contexts. But it is not showing that, that means it is showing older version. * I have submitted my site to yahoo and other search engines. they are showing my site in the listing, but i am sure that they didnt indexed my whole site as they only indexed only home page of the site. i am sure about that because of they are showing my site name i.e. www.sitename.com only for that specific keyword search and do not showing other pages of the site which are more optimized for that specific keyword. Hence it is sure that yahoo, altavista, lycos and other search engines didnt indexed my site completely. as per my knowledge we have to submit only url i.e. www.sitename.com and search engines finds home page and index whole site by follows links in the home page. I have two major problems as described above. I am seriously seeking yours help. I will be very thankful to you for the same. My all efforts and work is not producing healthy results, thats why i am very confused about it. I am expecting to hear you very soon. Thanks a lot, Best Regards, Umesh M Joshi ================================================ |

It takes awhile for your entire site to get indexed (some never fully do). You'll definately need a sitemap if you dont have one already. Can really speed things up. It will take a few months for your main pages to get indexed and the rest will follow. Re-submitting doesn't help. Just have to wait. While doing that, good idea to start building your pile of backlinks.

umjoshi - thanks for not starting to build your pile of backlinks here.
Some members actually might give you a bad example by faking a signature with a live link to their website, before they have posted at least 100 posts over 90 days... ;) You could however post a link/url in the Site Reviews forum if you like people to comment on your pages regarding SEO. What you could do, if you don't like to exchange links with just about everyone, is to submit your site to directories. There are lots of popular ones about. Start for example with the list on strongestlinks.com/directories.php . Some are easy and/or free to get into, some take more effort/money. It's always beneficial to be listed in the top ones... Good luck. P.S.: if you're already indexed by Google, stop resubmitting to them directly. It won't work to get your pages crawled by googlebot again, and it might even work against you. I guess the same goes for all the other search engines and directories... Last edited by Wit : October 13th, 2004 at 06:36 AM. |
