Yahoo! focuses on search

Yahoo! News:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030407/ap_on_hi_te/yahoo_search_5

Yahoo looks as if it wants more of a slice of the search market.

The new Yahoo search engine can be found here...
http://b.search.yahoo.com

They also have revamped their search root page http://search.yahoo.com.

I wonder how long it will be before they do something with inktomi :-)

Here's another link to an infoworld story about this:

This looks like the biggest news in SE in a very long time...

Well it will certainly be major news if they drop Google completely from their SERPs. That day will come I'm sure. It is however very interesting to know that Yahoo! seems determined to regain its position as a search engine. They have a longgg way to go to regain the search market share they had only 2-3 years ago.

Time will tell :-)

I have been getting some visitors from the b.search.yahoo.com listings. I noticed this a few days ago. I guess if I am getting hits from these listings then its a good thing. I place very well in the directory for a certain keyword. Which I notice you can navigate too alot easier than before.

Personally I like the new interface. But its looks very similar to other SE's that scaled down there sites to focus on "search" as the prime focus.

Bring it on Yahoo!
