Is it still worth paying to submit a new Website to the Yahoo Directory?

Probably not.

It's just one link buried several "clicks" down in the pages, highly unlikely that it will be ever found by any real person to gain traffic from it.
The "link weight" from it is probably minimal, and should your "home" page appear in the Yahoo! SERPs, it will show the title and description from the directory entry.

Only you can answer that question. What else would you spend the money on instead? I still pay but $300 is not much money for my business.

I doub't it helps that much but you do tend to get a few decent links for your money ie Yahoo regional directories as well.

Buying into the Yahoo Directory was the worst waste of $300 ever!

It brought me ZERO traffic

And the page I was on had a low Page Rank with a ton of other links.

In fact I could not even find it when doing a backlink check in Yahoo Site Explorer.

After all its just ONE link....no more

You don't buy the directory listing for the direct traffic. You buy the link to help your domain out with site authority. Make sure the page in which you get your page is indexed so that you get maximum value from the listing.

Problem with directories is they get so many submissions its hard to get in even if you pay they look for reasons not to include you.
