Hi Clasione,

Which backdoor are you referring to?

I wouldn't guarantee it works, though. And if you submit too often this way your site will probably be labeled as spam.

Well, I will let everyone know if it works..... I submitted about 8 of my sites the other day.....

Anybody have an idea on about how long the directory editors take to review?

and does Yahoo have a similar update program like DMOZ's RDF dump?

For free inclusion the Yahoo editors may take up to 8 weeks, or even never. I've heard they often just clear out the category submissions of there's too much backload.

No RDF dump for Yahoo.

clasione - are you sure you're in the Yahoo directory and not just popping up in the results that come from Google. The reason I ask is that if you haven't got the red arrow it normally means you're not in the Yahoo directory. Although this may just be because it's a new inclusion.

Gringo.

I don't know if this still works, but here's how dumb luck, making mistakes and not knowing any better got me into Yahoo for free...

mistake #1, I registered my site as a .com even though I didn't sell anything, because I didn't know any better... (I do sell stuff now, though)

Tried to submit to Yahoo, and they wanted $199 to submit because of the .com ... NO WAY, I'm too cheap!

Messing around in the Yahoo regionals, I noticed some countries didn't charge for Yahoo listing, even for businesses... NOT FAIR, said I...

I submitted to Yahoo Canada and never heard anything, and I submitted to Yahoo HongKong and got in...there and in the main Yahoo, and I'm still in, doing the happy dance.

Now websites aren't my livilhood, so I don't know if I just got lucky or if it would work for anyone, I'm just a grandma who amuses herself with a website between visits from the grandsons

Try it, it can't hurt

Anne

This post now seems dead, but I was just wondering if anyone else has tried it? I submitted us to Domain Registration Services and Internet/Shareware. I did the first submission about 1 1/2 weeks ago and the second a few days ago. Any idea on a turn-around rate?
