wait how long?
how long should i wait before resubmitting to yahoo's directory? is there a place where i can check the status of a directory submission? how will i know i got accepted?

I have no idea how you will know except see traffic, or see yourself in the SERPS...try copying and pasting some unique sentence on your index page and put it in quotes and search it in yahoo...
for example on my site I searched for "Ultimate website for Christian men" my site comes up #1...there are about 10,000 results...most from links, but mine is #1

Anyway. About Y-dir. Haven't seen any shortcuts or notification services yet, but at least Y says it's alright to resubmit every three weeks or so... The bad thing is you NEED to do that, since it's about 99% certain that a newly submitted site will NOT be listed (for free) within tree weeks (or three months FTM). Come to think of it: it's about time for me to resubmit - again....  If you can do this on auto-pilot, I guess it could be worth the effort in the end...

The three weeks is valid i think. I submited two weeks ago for the first time, and now I'm accepted into a fairly competitive directory.

They can tell if you're selling something, and if so you'll have to pay the $300. If you are paying, I don't see why they wouldn't list you. I've seen some pretty bad sites pay their way in.
