Hello folks,
I was looking at some strong Directories for link-buys and I've narrowed my search to three that I've decided to buy links on:
- Best of the Web Directory
- Yahoo Directory
- Aviva Directory
Any other ones I should target?
Thanks,
Fravely

They could be among the quality directories but please note that directory links might not seem enough to ensure top rankings. Even by spending hundreds of dollars, you might gather a few links for your website while to rank well in some competitive niches, hundreds of quality one way links could be required. If you are going to begin building links for your site, try getting in touch with the professional SEO people and link builders before spending money online.
you can take the money you would spend on all 3 of those and get something worth a lot more
.
I agree with Alex..although there are still others who consider that.. but you can use that money for something more important than that..
i'll spend the money to get more quality contents
As said above whilst those directories are good and offer a site a strong link (in most categories) I too would spend that SEO funding on much better content...
I have never paid for directory listings like those (which some of our competitors have) and yet we can still rank high then them due to the "free" links we get along with the quality content your better off spending money on IMHO

Yes, I also think it would be better to spend the money somewhere else and that would be buying a good link on a well respected site in your own line of business or maybe even a couple of sites and links.Originally Posted by AlexTampa
Is that what you are talking about or ore you talking about creating some sort of linking bait? Or are you talking about buying a new TV or similar as you would get more benefit from that than those directories?
Thank you Alex.
Well in my 5 years i haven't purchase a single link. but you want the paid directories, here are few you can spend your money on:
General Directories:
PR 8
http://dir.yahoo.com ($299 per year)
http://www.business.com/ ($299 per year)
http://www.dirbull.com/ ($66.98 Life time)
PR 7
http://www.botw.org/ ($149.95 per year or $299.95 life time)
http://www.joeant.com/ ($39.99)
PR 6
http://www.ezilon.com/ ($69 per year / $199 life time)
http://www.familyfriendlysites.com/ ($19.90 per year / $49.99 life time)
http://www.goguides.com/ ($69.95)
http://www.dirjournal.com/ ($59.95 per year / $159.95 life time)
PR 5
http://Directory.v7n.com ($49.95)

ya i know its just have the PR but how many directories can you list having PR-8. If PR has nothing to do, then there will never be a Google Toolbar with Green Bar on anyone browser and no one will ever interested in having PR to their site, asking for next PR update and getting PR links.
It gets this PR-8 in just 2 months after the domain was created 2010-02-10. Here is the DP link:

The above thread started on Apr 9th 2010 and Dirbull still have PR-8 after going through couple of PR updates in between.
I am not interested in promoting it and not forcing any one to buy link. I just have the data to share and I have done so...
AlexTampa,
Could you please elaborate on why dirbull.com is worthless?
I have found 4 places to add my listing and there all on PR6 pages.
This would only cost me $268
It still has a reasonable amount of authority and trust.
Am I missing something for you to say it's worthless?

Hmm.... I am not sure but I understand that Alex wants us to look deeper than just pagerank. He does mean looking at website age and overall authority based on link sources they acquired. I have not used pagerank to judge quality / value of website /directory quite a long time ago.Originally Posted by seogod1505
Even saying that but dirbull.com may not that completely bull****. They have sitelinks for its own domain at least and that is a good sign IMO. Please correct me if I am wrong.![]()

i think joeant.com at that price of $39.99 is quite worth it for a PR7 link.
Multiple people in here have suggested other routes than paid linking...spending money elsewhere. Does anyone have actual suggestions?Originally Posted by leftybogs
