sitematch program
I have interesting question here:
I had a site that with the most recent yahoo update (7-20-05) lost all top 5 yahoo rankings, and all rankings for that matter. Prior to the 7-20-05 yahoo update Inktomi Bot was eating my site alive, since the update...ink bot visits 1-2 a twice if that for kbytes worth of indexing, vs the mb's of indexing it always did... The site is rather young, registered in Jun 2004. My question is, if I have incurred a link age penalty or sandbox penalty...basically some kind of filter/penalty....if I signup for overture sitematch for them to index and re-rank my site according to how much I pay them cpc, will I regain the top rankings again?? I had top 5 rankings for a solid 6-8mos, then July 20 yahoo...I'm gone... Should be interesting nevertheless....anybody else experience this or try this?? |

I haven't heard that Yahoo gives ANY link age penalty or has ANY sandbox effect. Don't go for SiteMatch!
-just simplify your site structure, -apply basic SEO tricks (title, description, header tags, bold, italic, underline, alt, anchor text etc.) ;-) -create a site map page which links to all pages of your site and link it from your home page as the very first page on the link, -create an RSS feed for main pages of your site and add it from your MyYahoo page, -add fresh keyword-rich content pages regularly, -get more backlinks from relevant sites at a optimum speed and -be patient! You will do WELL in Yahoo soon! Last edited by sufyaaan : August 20th, 2005 at 07:47 AM. |

not so sure I would just wait on the fences.
paying SiteMatch the $50 can at least get your site reviewed so that you know if there currently is a problem with it in Yahoo!'s eyes. is the site clean? if not you may want to clean it up prior to paying for SiteMatch. also you have to consider the value of Yahoo! & MSN & Google. it could just be technical issues which are easy to fix, but if shady tactics got a site banned from one of the engines and cleaning up the site means ranking worse in the other engines it may be worth just writing off one of the engines as a loss...or starting a different site and leaving the current one in place for time being. |
