Several directories on the same IP (?)

Does anyone know this? If I have several directories on the same server and on the same IP, would they be treated equally by search engines as directories on different IP's?

Sorry, I might not have been clear.

Is it better to put several directories on the same IP or different IP's? Will search engines like the latter option better?

Better on different IP's but with a few directories I don't think there is a big difference.

The reason is that many links from same IP gets devalued and maybe even only a certain amount has any value. For example a sitewide link on a site with 2K pages maybe has the same weight as 10 links on different IPs (assuming it's the same PR, anchor, theme etc.)

This is the case if you cross link them and the directories are all the same theme...

If one is about fishing in Glasgow and the other is a tractor directory and both are not interlink then your be fine and you submitters..
