Several directories on the same IP (?)
Does anyone know this? If I have several directories on the same server and on the same IP, would they be treated equally by search engines as directories on different IP's?

Sorry, I might not have been clear.
Is it better to put several directories on the same IP or different IP's? Will search engines like the latter option better? |

Better on different IP's but with a few directories I don't think there is a big difference.
The reason is that many links from same IP gets devalued and maybe even only a certain amount has any value. For example a sitewide link on a site with 2K pages maybe has the same weight as 10 links on different IPs (assuming it's the same PR, anchor, theme etc.) |

This is the case if you cross link them and the directories are all the same theme... If one is about fishing in Glasgow and the other is a tractor directory and both are not interlink then your be fine and you submitters..
