Re DMOZ Open Directory entries

Launched my page on 10-31-03. Shortly thereafter used bCentral's Submit It! to send to search engines. Additionally went into Open Directory & manually entered it there also.
How long does it normally take for a listing to show up there?
And how do I verify if my listing is still in their system although not officially "up & running"? Can I get it listed faster by becoming an editor?
I am curious!

Since your site hasn't been included by now, it probably has been rejected by the DMOZ editor. You could try to clean up your site and resubmit. You will not get listed faster if you become an editor, even if you become the editor of the category in question another editor would have to review your site.

thats not what the general concensus has been. it can take a long long time...and a resubmit puts you at the end of the line again.

Do they give notice of rejections? It'd be useful to know when the site has been rejected so if you choose to sort it out and resubmit you're not booting yourself from next in line back to last.

You can go to the DMOZ Forum: http://resource-zone.com/ and request status. They will tell you there if you were rejected or not. Make sure you read their guidlines prior to posting (VERY IMPORTANT).

Thanks, I'm sure that'll be useful in the future - touch wood they've all been accepted so far.
