I want to submit our site to directories finally. Does the yahoo directory benefit google rankings? Any other sites people like?

DMOZ makes the biggest difference

all incoming links are useful but DMOZ and Yahoo are highly reputed directories because of there high level of quality maintained, some others are looksmart, thisisouryear etc

Goolge does seem to award strong value to links from the Yahoo directory. I have read however that it is necessary to tread with caution as far as getting in the cateogry that is most consistent with your keywords. Sometimes Y "puts them were they want them", not necessarily where you do.

DMOZ is great if you can get in. In my experience, they are slooooooooow to add new sites.
