Paid Directories?

How useful are paid directories? I'm considering adding my site to several. Here's one site I came across that a competitor use : www.clush.com. Any hoo....are they worth the cost?

PM Fathom and ask him to recommend the paid directories he would use... He, or relatives, own a couple, but I am sure he will assist in recommending others.

I think he is trying to say that there are no directories worth paying for... if you have to submit to directories just stick with the free ones... all they cost you is time...

If you really feel strongly about paid directories the only ones I would consider are the Yahoo Directory (be warned its pricey), botw.com, business.com, joeant.com and maybe V7.

Think about it from another point of view:

What kind of traffic is the directory going to bring you solely from it's own initiative? Don't consider any SEO value of the directory, and if you think the traffic you will receive from that one directory link is worth the cost, whether it is time, money, or whatever, then and only then should you consider investing.
