New directory with a twist

Hi all,

I don't know if anyone is interested, but i've just started a new directory which allows every site to have a customizable page entirely to themselves, allowing a highly relevant page from which to link. I didn't know of any other sites that allow this, so thought it would be a good idea to make. The URL is http://www.thecorporateindex.com - it's very search engine friendly (uses a few mod_rewrites) but also very new, hence the lack of PR.

If anyone would like to add their site to it, please email all details to me and i'll gladly add you. The email address and information which is required is on the home page. Please indicate the category in which you'd like to be placed as i'll create new ones as I receive them.

Cheers!

Question

So...no replies. I thought a directory that allowed you a highly relevant page was a good idea, does no-one agree?

People are used to submitting their links via the web site rather than sending emails. Especially if you have right Firefox add-ons, submitting a new site can take you less than a second via a website. This may be the reason. Also, the categories seem to require some work as well.

Good luck...

Thumbs up Update

Thanks for the replies guys. I've finally got off my lazy backside and added a submission form, I hope everyone can see how useful I think a directory like this could be:

http://www.thecorporateindex.com/add-link.php

I understand what you are saying about the categories, but I didn't want lots of pages without any links in, so what I have done is allow users to add their own categories if necessary.

Any feedback appreciated!

Hi

Thanks for a good directory, but a couple of tips:

1. After submission, the website mentioned a "short review". My website showed up immediately. Just to minimize on spam, I would make sure there is a review

2. You really should add a contact form so that people can get in touch.

Thanks again!

Good idea. I noticed that Jewelry is mispelled (or is that a Brit version?)

Yeah it's the British spelling, but i've changed it to the American version as I guess there will be more sites tailored to that spelling.

Thanks

Great idea! Submission made!

Essentially you've allowed people to create their own "marketing page"

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

I've now put on a "preview" feature so you can see what the page will look like before submitting.

about this american spelling thing ....

There are some brits with jewellery sites as well.

if its a brit based site lets stick with brit based spelling.

Do you want to hand the internet to these colonials on a plater ?

Not at all, but, unfortunately, from a marketing point of view, it makes more sense...
