Local Directory Vs. Region Directory
Hello,
I am kalwin. While targeting local region we submit our site in local directory. As we all know that finding any local directory is so tedious task so I am thinking that if we submit in regional directory, will it give me same result. For Example: I am targeting Atlanta, For that I am looking for Atlanta local directory. But if we submit our directory in Regional > North America > Georgia > Atlanta Will both give me same result? I am dam sure about the first one is effective but for the second one I am not sure. So please give your suggestions. Any other advice would be greatly appreciate. Atlanta local directory will have more weight towards ranking for region specific searches.
Regional > North America > Georgia > Atlanta will have less weight because the directory is not so regionally focused, but it may help a little. It is usually easier to get region specific rankings by including an address and postcode on your site and submitting your site to Google maps / Google Local Business Centre. But while targeting local region I have faced some difficulties. I am able to get rank in top 20 but it consume more time to move it to top 10. So please share if you have faced same experience. |

re: "...but it consume more time to move it to top 10..."
welcome to SEO ! I am worried tho in that you also indicated that you "have clients..." and I wonder what kind of serps you're providing for them....I suspect judging by both your post and premises....not much! Read our stickies here. Read the links in many of our long-time members sigs. Digest and learn. Test. Re-test...and grow....and THEN your clients might be getting their $$$ worth.... :-) Jim |
