I want to submit my website to overture

Hello forum,
Im looking for some help, I want to submit my wibsite to overture because it seems very reasonably priced at first glance,
and I know next to little about seo.
I need to find out if I still need to optimize my web site to get listed using overture?

Thank you
Tim.

Overture is Different than SEO

Hi Tim,

Overture is a pay-per-click search engine and therefore you pay for placement versus performing optimization to your website for indexing purposes. Go to www.overture.com and click on the scroll-down bar below "AdvertiserSolutions". Select the "PrecisionMatch" productform the scroll-down whcih is the second option availavle on the list. On the next page, sign-up as an advertiser. The sign-up procss is straight-forward although you will need to pre-define which keywords are most relevant to your website's products or services. Overture has a good tutorial. A setup fee of $20 is required whcih wil go towards the pay-per-click costs. If you need more directions just post again.

So even with site match i can forget about using the meta tags, keywords, and making sure they appear frequently throughout my website and all that kind of stuff!
Wow thats great!
But will they still list me even when I pay them to without any optimization?

Yep. You pay per click. The more you bid, the higher up on the search results you will be. No need to optimize (ranking purposes). But Overture can be expensive (higher bid prices than other ppcse's).

With Overture just like Google adwords, you set quota per month. If that runs out in first 3 days of the month, your site will not show up for rest of the 27/28 days. Now lets say you have set your monthly limit very high, your link gets lot of clicks, that will bring your link up in the list, again, click costs but what if the customer doesnt buy anything, you are risking that money but you are definitely working towards inviting a visitor to your website. So higher your rank better chances of exposure and high expenditure on your part.

Ok, I been doing some research on this, I checked the keywords I want to target in yahoo, and then checked same keywords with 'Overture Keyword Popularity Tool'.
I got different results of sites listed from each. Why would this be? If I paid overture to list me I would expect to shw at the top of a yahoo search, rather than just on some search term tool!
Hope someone can help me clear this up.
Thanks
Tim.

The first couple of the sponsored listings should be the same as on the bid tool.

Red face

Not to mention once your budget runs out- or you decide to hold back some on your PPC- the orders/traffic will halt as well....IMO I suggest to build a search engine friendly website, do a link management, press releases and PPC. After a while easing back on the PPC throttle won't hurt your traffic/sales if done right.

My $.02

Dwight

Ppc

No need if its only overture but if you want to get qaulity traffic that is not PPC and free

you should optimize your site...

Another thing ... if they decline your request just resubmit it ... they normaly Allow.
