Do you have a better chance of getting in if you pay?
I know that noncommercial sites are supposed to get into yahoo for free, but if they pay do they get a prefrence over the others? I guess what im saying is if i pay for them to review my site would I be more likely to get in than if it was reviewed for free? Im guessing i would have a better chance of getting in, but does anyone know for sure?

As with pretty much everything in this world, your going to get a better service if you pay

In saying that, if you do actually have a good site that is not commercial, then sit tight and don't pay as you'll likely show up in the end anyway!

Yeah paying for stuff does suck, but I'd hold out if you're not a commercial website and wait a few months for the listing. Truth be told, I've never worried about Yahoo listings!

Josh - it depends on the category. It will only help if the category has a high PR - after all, Yahoo links are spidered in the same way as any other link.

P.S. Darrin, like the photo - maybe we should all do that and make this place a bit more personal and friendly

Yup - That's the idea, I seen a photo from some others on here and said I should get onboard. I look a little weird in the picture (my eyes are squinting) but it's the best of a bad bunch!

My personal experience is that the Yahoo results match Google's like for like.
You need DMOZ though.

Else Gringo's comment may be very true indeed.
