Directory & CAPS Question
Hello world! Long time lurker, first time poster.
I've got a question regarding CAPITAL letters and Google. I work for a company, and our project has gone swimmingly. Now, as a "find yourself something to do" task, I've been adding my client to loads of directories (about 100).
The client wrote to us and said that when he searches with CAPS for his keywords, he comes out No1 on Google; when he searches in lower cases for the same, he comes out No8. (We've both checked this, and it's correct.)
Both My senior companion and I are a bit baffled by this. Isn't Google supposed to treat upper and lower cases equally?
My workmate is now in a tizz; and has suggested that my directory project should go: One company in CAPS, the next in lower, repeat and etc... As I have to answer to him politely, can any confirm or refute his CAPS, no caps suggestion.

Well..... if he's already ranked #1 for the all CAPS version, why would you want to switch back and forth? Wouldn't you want to mainly target the lower-case version?

Thanks for the reply. The reason is that the client's business is international, and we've only looked at Google in his country - the thinking is: just finish the directories project, and then we'll see where we stand with Google country by country.
Thanks also, for not descending into the "why are you wasting your time with directories" argument!

Seems like you'd be a bit more focused that way....
Well yeah, that would be true, but there aren't that many directories left on my list (I think maybe 12 or so), so it's a bit late in the game to be worrying about targets.
It's the anomaly that really concerns us; and I was merely asking to see if anyone here had suffered a similar fate, regarding the CAPs and lower case results.
I was led to believe that Google didn't treat upper and lower cases differently.
