if you see a large # of clicks in a short amount of time (especially for only one keyword or only a few keywords) or from the same IP address it should be noticable.
there is good software which makes tracking it easy. whosclickingwho and keyword max's tools are two of the more popular I think.

Were you on page one the whole time? I know that with one of the firms I represent, our usual listing is on page 2-3 (because the top bid has been around $16/click). Anyhow, we'll occassionally be "rewarded" for a high CTR -- meaning we get a heck of a lot of clicks in a short amount of time. We checked on the legitimacy with Google several times and keep getting the same response back that the traffic we received appeared to be normal. Cygnus
