Will it be a disadvantage?

Well, I have a doubt. While doing manual directory submission for a website, the use of free mail id'(gmail,yahoo,hotmail.com)
is a disadvantage in comparison to domain email id's or not? Does it has amy effect on site acceptance parameter. Any help will be great for me. Thanks in advance.

i don't think using free email id would have any effect in acceptance parameter. the only difference is that some directories don't accept free email id...

Cant say if that does happen. I dont think so it would have much of an effect, perhaps there might be few directories preffering domain e mail addresses.

You obviously do not know much! DMOZ is the largest directory on the www (and no other directory comes remotly close). DMOZ lists >2000 new sites a month making it the fastest growing directory on the www (and no other directory comes remotly close). Thats not DEAD - thats an awesome achievement.

regardless of how you submit the chances of being indexed are slim to none.
You seem to have got DMOZ confused with other directories that offer a link submission and listing service.

ALERT: "Facts" Do Not Match Data
Perhaps you'll explain how a net loss of over a quarter million sites in a year qualifies as "the fastest growing directory on the www"?

You do the math:
  • 4,830,584 sites 1 yr ago
    4,600,733 sites today
Easily checked at WebArchive and Dmoz.org. How is that "growth"?

FASTEST GROWING?
It's a big directory, a forerunner of the industry, but even if it were growing not shrinking, ">2000 new sites per month" wouldn't approach fastest. As for "no other directory comes remotely close", just as an example check the daily "new sites" pages at BOTW. For at least several months they have been adding over 500 per day, which means 15 - 20k new sites per month +/-. Your claim is dated.

When employing "You dont know much" statements, best to support same with facts, not dated material easily proven incorrect. Times do change.
