Updating the website in Dmoz
If we make some changes in the title, description & keyword tag can we resubmit the website to Dmoz?

You can try, but if you are trying to keyword stuff the description then don't.
If you are trying to change the title because you don't like the title used, don't - the title has to follow ODP rules, it's not what you want to have as the title I find that about 90% of update requests I get are rejected. Usually have errors in spelling in the description, bad use of capital letters, keyword stuffing, attempts to make the description too long. The only ones accepted are ones that conform to the guidelines, and represent a change in content to the web sites, or the occasional one, where something was wrong with the original description. Sometimes a request for a change will result in a change, but not what was asked for. |

Hehe, tell me about it. Some time ago, I asked for a couple of words to be moved from the description to the title. So I proposed a new -longer- title and a new -shorter- description. Apparently my reasons for having the new title were dismissed, but the corresponding, shorter description WAS accepted. Luckily - another editor kindly corrected that for one of my listings (the topical one), but changed the wording again -just a bit- to suit HIS/HER personal taste. Anyway, that new version is fine with me, but it was unexpected - again. I was fortunate though that both editors responded very quickly, and were helpful (or at least tried to be). In short: if you don't have a VERY good reason to change, DON'T risk it. Changes solely for SEO purposes are probably not very welcome, bar the odd exception of course (as reported around here recently) |

I recently rejected an amusing update request. They wanted more keywords added to the title in DMOZ so they could rank better in Google!!! ... at least they were honest with their reasons.

LOL - of course I wanted that too (at least it would have been a bonus), but I actually requested the change to avoid confusion between my site's sports club and another with the same name (and no site). I guess the editors must have found my request equally amusing
