Submitting to Dmoz - error or not!?

pretty simple

is it possible that when i submit to a category, even though it says page error, the submission could have been accepted?

regards

No, just send youre Submission again - because if there is an older Submission from you in Unreviewed.Sites it will be updated with youre new Submission.

no probs - i had someone who claimed to edit for Dmoz say that it may be the case - i wouldnt be surprised but sounds pretty bad if that is the case and you could get penalized for it!

Ill keep hammering away it them still

I've tried to add a .info site to dmoz but keep getting errors. Can't understand why. I have tried emailing the editors but a) the problem isn't fixed and b) my site isn't added.

Is this a .info problem or a general problem?

a general problem. dmoz has had this problem for quite some time now. here's what has worked best for me - submit middle of the night and when u get the error, hit your back key and submit again. do this over and over until it works. usually takes me about 10 times hitting the back key, but eventually it seems to work. good luck.

Thanks dazzlindonna.

Lucky for me that the "middle of the night" that you refer to is probably only early evening for me

Are they working on this?

well, they've been supposedly working on the problem for quite some time now, but its apparently a slowwwww thing. there are some dmoz editors who spend a lot of time here on this forum, so they may have some better "insider" information.

another post sent me off to the dmoz forum (which I didn't know existed) and I got this sorry little reply to a posting: http://www.resource-zone.com/showfl...ew=&sb=&o=&vc=1

I guess we watch this space!

Like it or not, that sorry little reply is accurate and honest. I know some submissions are getting through because I see some new ones, but there doesn't seem to be a pattern as far as I can tell. I think getting through in the middle of the night may be just coincidence or luck. The work that's being done to the servers at the time you try to submit has a lot to do with it.

You may not like what you read on www.resource-zone.com but it's reliable. IMHO, when the upgrades are finished the new and improved ODP will make you happy.

woops - think I might have tripped over my words.

Down here that would mean "bad news" and be no slight against the message or the bearer!

I really appreciate that I was saved from endless submits which go nowhere and I really appreciate all who take the time to reply. I only have took the time myself to post back to resource-zone because I felt that the information was credible.
