Not listed cause I have multiple sites?
I just found out from the resource-zone.com people (DMOZ editors) that my site wasn't indexed because I have more than one site! Isn't that kinda picky? Doesn't everyone have more than one site?
I didn't have two duplicate sites, I just had two sites. And neither of these sites are even in the DMOZ. Does this sound correct to anyone? If they didn't include sites that owners had more than one site, there would be like 4 sites in the DMOZ. Just wanted to get that off my chest because it has been bugging me. I can get in Yahoo and ranked #1 (was ranked #1, I switch between #1 and #134 lately) for my most popular keyword in Google, but I can't get in the DMOZ. Any suggestions on what to do to get in? |

It depends on what kind of sites they were. If these sites were full of affiliate link and no true content then it makes sense for them to be not listed.
If on the other hand you do provide good content and have minimal affiliate links, then have duplicate sites doesn't appear to be a valid reason in my opinion. Are they just mirrors of each other, or do they both have their own brand name and just have the same pages but with different logos?

They have different content. One site is strictly vacation rental homes and villas, while the other site is timeshares for sale and rentals. They are different names and look and size and everything, no mirrors whatsoever.
I kind of have a feeling that area may be run by a competitor and they don't want any comp in their directory. They haven't updated it in about 2 months. We have very little advertisements (no pop-ups, etc) only an advertisement when there is no listings found for that country or city. We then offer an advert that is relavent for what they are looking for. Both sites have several hundred listings in them. Does that sound like a good reason to not index a site? |

If you have already made your case at RZ, and you have been told there that you can't get a second listing, how can you still suspect a competitor to be blocking you from being listed in that area? Please don't clog the public abuse report system with stuff that has been already discussed in public, has already been evaluated by metas, and where if abouse was found ODP metas and staff would already have taken due action... |
