My site just got listed in DMOZ directory

I checked my stats yesterday and I saw that my site got listed in DMOZ.

It took my site 4 months and it proves to me that they still list sites.

Emerson agrees: Thanks for sharing this, at least I know typical and actual timeline of DMOZ approval.

Why start a thread on it? Several 1000 sites get listed every week.

I submitted a site in September 2006 and it still has not listed.

I submitted a new site in September 2007 and it listed in 6 weeks.

Go figure.

I'd resubmit this one. It was probably lost when the DMOZ backend servers crashed.

Getting listed in DMOZ has become such an IN thing that just for getting listed there, calls for opening a thread and announcing that DMOZ still accepts sites

Anyways, one of my sites also got listed recently in DMOZ after a period of maybe 3-4 months..I am not sure..I just submitted and forgot it...good to see that it finally got listed.

I came to know that my site got listed by an increase in ranks. The site went from #2 in Google to #1. Since moving up in such a spot would require a good amount of link boost so I'd assume that the DMOZ link gave it the boost. Appearance of the DMOZ title and desc in Google SERP also indicated that my site was finally in.

The ranks of the site improved in all the 3 search engines. So I can say that the DMOZ link helped MY site move up in ranks...what about others ?? Any improvements??

As everyone else has said submit it and forget it. It's a volunteer organization with a gigantic backlog in some categories. Set it, forget it, check back every few months and hope for the best.
