Mine too. It has only been two weeks. I choose the category and my site has new contentOriginally Posted by wwebmastersseo
Dmoz takes lots of time to approve any site at least 6 months just follow all the guidelines of the directory your site will be there.
If you made as bad a job of choosing the category as you did with this thread, they won't approve itOriginally Posted by wwebmastersseo

They aren't interested in metatags (neither are Google) or optimization, just quality of content... but it can take a long time to get listed (2-3 years is by no means unusual).

I wouldn't worry about dmoz too much.
It used to mean a lot to SERPs. But not so much any more.
If you already have some high quality one way back links to your website it will make little difference.
But that little difference is still worth applying to dmoz for ^^
If you are resubmitting your site to DMOZ... STOP!!... resubmitting to DMOZ makes your site go to the bottom of the review/approval files.Originally Posted by wwebmastersseo
DMOZ is a directory... a good directory, but it is ONLY a directory. Submit your site and forget about it. If it gets approved... WOW!... you have a directory backlink. Go find some good relevant links and forget about checking on DMOZ.

Personally I think if you get in the dmoz directory your doing well. I would submit your site once every 6 months if you don't see it in there.
Otherwise don't worry about it and more on. Maybe you should become a reviewer.
Site Selection CriteriaI don't know exactly , what DMOZ looking for exactly.
We are resource limited and there must be around 400 million websites that we haven't yet looked at. It's gonna take time so please be patient.
I submitted site back 2 years & I am not got listings right now. I am waiting for dmoz listing.
do you get a email if your submission is accepted?
No. You will receive NO information from DMOZ. You can schedule on your own calendar to check once a month by doing a search on their site. You, to my knowledge, will never receive any communication from DMOZ.Originally Posted by HunterWoods
okay, thanks.

If that's the case, you'll never get listed. You'll have to become an editor for your location (rather than your industry) and list your website in your locale. Becoming an editor is as simple and as difficult as following their editor guidlines for submission - don't follow their instructions to the letter, you won't get it. It's a bit of work, but not overwhelming. The little rural town that I live in has the best dmoz section ever.
Other than that, submit and then forget it. Dmoz has no real relevance in the web today. It's a good backlink, but not worth anything more than cursory effort.
i submit my site one year ago, can i try to submit again or my site go down?
sigh.. you open up a nearly 1 month old thread with that one liner!Originally Posted by mistermeth
