How much traffic do you REALLY get from the ODP?

Based on a previous discussion; I was wondering just what percentage of traffic to your websites originates from the ODP and its various partners (G directory, etc...)?

I'm not talking about indirect traffic like any rankings that might come from DMOZ, I'm simply talking about direct traffic from DMOZ and the partner directories that it feeds.

DMOZ feeds hundreds of official partners and thousands of unofficial sites. Anyone claiming an exact number of referrals from DMOZ and their feed sites...

I think getting the link itself is an important part of any marketing campaign, but hits from dmoz or partner sites are few and far between unless you can get a link in an upper category which is very rare.

I get the occasional visitor from DMOZ/G-dir (e.g. people looking for specific pictures to deeplink to - hehe) but most come from bookmarks, friendly/neighbour sites and niche directories/portals. Still.

Actually neither ODP nor any of the directories that use it forward me any traffic. They don't even show up as backlinks anymore.

But when I first started the site, ODP did show as a backlink.

Any more contributors?

You don't have to post, just take the poll. Although all contributions are welcome.

From the DMOZ directory itself I've had 1 hit, but I'm listed only in my town's category, and I've been in there for about 2 months.

What traffic?

Hehe - at least I get SOME traffic from ODP (& derivates). I can't help thinking that sites that get 0 traffic every month maybe don't belong in the directory - or made a mess of their title and description... ;) ;) Don't tell me you guys only went for the PR!!

How's that for an added hypothesis? {smirk}

Of course I wish all of you the best... Hope your G serps compensate

Hello Gr8ted3s. I average a couple of visitors a month from DMOZ/Google. I average a couple of visitors a year from the clones.

(I'm, in a PR-4 category with a total of four other sites besides mine.)

I just checked and haven't received any, but the site has only been in there for a month.

To me the value of being in DMOZ is more that you also get spread around all the clones working off their database, so hopefully you do hoover up a few clicks here and there once your entry has spread out a bit. However, lets face it, the main reason I submitted was for the search engine boost.
