Google Directory/DMOZ question

I apologize if I am asking this in the wrong place, but I am struggling with optimizing for a keyword that I have great content for. I notice that the google directory shows results from DMOZ, and that there are pretty specific results that show up for the category of the keyword I am optimizing for.

I notice that one of my competitors has a listing for the keyword in the google directory, and that they actually have 3 listings in DMOZ (one being for the keyword I am optimizing for). So they've submitted their site as a whole in one category, as well as two specific articles on their site for two keywords.

DMOZ says you can only submit one URL to their directory - I already have mine listed. So should I stay away from listing my specific article page in DMOZ?

Let me know your thoughts. I look forward to participating in this community

You can only submit a site once to dmoz, but that doesnt exclude deeplinks.

I have seen online magazines having like 4500 in DMOZs, because their articles all get listed.

The editors also often choose sites without them being submitted.

Make sure you submit as deep as possible, and if your website has a brick and mortar store location submit to that before anything else.

go deep, , locations, state, city, town, business and economy, your industry

I didn't know that you could have more than one site from the same domain!

interesting stuff-- thanks Googler (love the name, BTW).

The guidelines you agree to when you suggest a site say don't do it, so don't do it.

1000's of sites have multiple listings (some have >100's); but that at an editors discretion and within the guidelines. Webmasters submitting them is against the guidelines.
