CBP... You are now being dishonest.
At one time, a couple of years ago, the DMOZ blessing was THE link to have... Not anymore... directory links are like a cheap date... DMOZ little better.

In realty we have no idea just how much DMOZ was weighted in the past and currently.
At the end of the day search engines, esp Google, do a lot of testing. Now and in the past, I assume they have done tesing with the DMOZ knob turned up high and then turned down low and measure the effect of this on the global quality of their search results. If they found that giving extra weigh to the DMOZ listed sites improved the overall quaility of the results then they will weight this in the algorithm ... and vice versa. No amount of whinging from webmasters about DMOZ will change the results of Google's testing. |
