Contacting Dmoz?

I submitted my site to them a while ago, i can see that through my analytics tool that i have had a dmoz refferal (editors.dmoz.org / referral) but i can't find my site in their listings and can't think of any real reason why they would not have added our listing.

We tried very carefully to get this listing and were very careful about our titls/description etc

Does anyone know what to do in these situations? I don't want to re-subbmit and annoy them but i don't really see an alternative?

Thanks

If your site is the online bingo games in your signature I imagine that you will find it difficult to get a DMOZ link as it appears all your site does is promote affiliates products. I imagine an editor visited your site and decided it had nothing of any real value to add to DMOZ directory. They are pretty selective in which sites to include. They must believe that your site adds something to their overall directory.

Sure, i can kind of relate to that, the site is very 1 dimensional at the moment. I need to add further features and give it more layers. I shoudl probably write about this in another post but what could i do to add more layers in order to give the site more depth?

Thanks

There is no need to do anything.
Its probably been rejected; resubmitting won't help.

yes but i think this is an opportunity to realise that sites with no layers are at a disadvantage towards getting listed on sites like dmoz and the general usability.

Won't a site that has more depth engage the user more, making them more likely to return and really absorb the content that you provide them with, thus making the site more usable and friendly?

Nope. DMOZ is all about unique content; I can't see a lot of valuable content and can see all the affliate links - DMOZ just tend not to list those types of sites. The DMOZ visitor would be better served by listing all the sites that you are an affiliate for; ie the visitor gets to them in less clicks.

its really hard to get your site listed in Dmoz. If you submitted you site again its impossible to be listed.

You say this but i have a direct competitor who is listed on Dmoz which doesn't really validate what you are saying?

Do you have information on your site that they do not have on theirs?
