    WebSite Title "You are being redirected..." instead of "Home - BasNews"

    Hello, well I am new in the world of SEO, I used the Meta Tag Analyzer on SEOchat and I discovered that the name of the website is different
    than the one existing between <title> ...</title>
    Which cause made this happen ? and how can I fix it
    Also it doesn't find the meta description and keywords ! any explanation ?
    Thank you for your help

    I would imagine because of the character set your using.
    A lot of these tools dont cater for these languages.

    Thank you for your answer,
    There are 4 languages (English, Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic) on the website and it doesn't even detect the English one, and I still dont get why the name of the page is "You are being redirected ..." since the original name is in english
    and why doesn't get the description and keywords
    sorry i didn't really get your response

    I see that you use php, so I think you may have a redirect in your htaccess file that redirects in a funny way. I have seen the "You are being redirected" message before and it occurs to me maybe you're doing it based on country ip or some other method. This is just a guess.

    Please post your htaccess file for inspection and also the head section of your index.php page.. I am guessing we may find your solution looking at the code. You could possibly have coded a redirect, and coded incorrectly.

    On a further note, you could have coded a php redirect in a php script.

    an example ....
    // Redirect browser
    header("Location: http://www.somedomain.com/confirmation.php");

    Hi,
    thank you for response,
    I am sorry for my late response ...
    this is the htaccess code :
    Code:
    ------------------------------------
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]
    ------------------------------------
    PHP Code:
    this is the head of index.php :
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="270">
        <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">
        <jdoc:include type="head" />
        <?php
        $this
    ->helix->Header()
        ->
    setLessVariables(array(
            ))
        ->
    addLess('master''template')
        ->
    addJs('basnews.js');

    ?>
           <?php //add ltr base css

    if ($this->direction == 'ltr'){

    $doc->addStyleSheet('templates/' $this->template '/css/bas.css');
        }

    ?>

              <?php //add rtl base css

    if ($this->direction == 'rtl'){

    $doc->addStyleSheet('templates/' $this->template '/css/bas_rtl.css');
            }

    ?>

            <?php
            $doc
    ->addStyleSheet('templates/' $this->template '/css/basnews.css');

    ?>

    Thank you for your help

    I see the redirect in your htaccess.
    I tested your redirect code on a working site and it works as it should, so nothing wrong there... it just adds www to the url.

    For me when I type in basnews.com I get redirected to the following... www.basnews.com/index.php/so/

    So you have another redirect hidden somewhere in your file system.

    So I wonder, how do you redirect to the index.php/so/ dir, where is the code for that located ? I will wager this is the code that is giving you the "You are being Redirected".

    My next question is why do you redirect to the /so/ by default ? As a suggestion, you should let all users just go to your home page, and let then choose the language of choice to view the site in. You have a very noticeable menu for choosing the correct language. Use it instead of
    redirecting the user automatically.

    Actually I am not the developer of the website, I am just here to optimize the website that's why I am kind of lost in the code too ...
    Well I found this but it looks commented :
    PHP Code:
    <?php //echo header("Location: http://{$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME']}/");
    //echo $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].'/index.php/ar';
    //echo $this->language;
    // $var1=$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].'/basup/index.php/ar';
    // $var2=($this->language == 'ar-aa');

    // if($var1 != $var2){
    //     echo "refresh";
    // }
    //echo $var2;
    //if($_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].'/basup/index.php/ar' && ($this->language == 'ar-aa')){
       // echo "done";
    //}
    ?>

    That's the code you should be looking for... that is a redirect and it is commented out,

    I don't know what editing software you use but you need to look for the following code. Make sure you search the source code of the entire site for the following....
    You may find it in an include or require file, so it may not even be in the file until run time, which means its in a sub dir and compiled at run time by the php engine.

    Look for

    header("location:

    or

    /basup/index.php/so

    You are the right track to find it... you just got to look hard...sorry.

    look for possibly a directory named, ---- includes, inc, require,
    if you are using WordPress I would look in the wp-includes dir... this is why you need to search the source code of the entire site. Depending on how big the site is , it may take up to an hour or so to do the search.

    Now that you know what you are looking for you should find easy enough.

    I hate legacy sites... ie working behind others, but that is where the work is ..

    Good Luck Mate !
