    SEO Google Snippet Help


    Hi All
    when i do a search for my website in google the snippet preview is not correct? i am using wordpress theme with yoast installed but cannot find a way for it to appear with the text I would like it to say. Any ideas or help please?

    What do you mean with "not correct"? Is it not either of these two options:
    1) The text that goes in your 'description' meta tag, or maybe a clipped version of that
    2) A bit of text from the page itself, most likely containing the words the searcher was searching for
    ?

    when i google my website address it displays the snippet which is not as I would like it to read, its displaying lots of different snippets from my website when I would like it to read different. Can this be overwritten or am I doing something wrong ? thanks in advance.

    AFAIK it cannot be overridden. Except maybe by coming up with a "description" meta text that covers most of your favourite keywords while still looking good.

    Quick question: what is wrong with Google displaying parts of your on-page text? Aren't those the bits that your visitors are actually looking for?

    P.S.: I've just noticed that your homepage's FIRST <meta ... description> tag is in fact empty, and that you have a second one done by the Yoast plugin. That might explain things... Try to ditch the first one maybe?
