    Re-arranging my menus

    I run an affiliate website wil high content and decent backlinks.
    Currently I have all posts (except the news items from the blogroll) listed in the main menu:

    - divided in 8 main-menu items

    1
    2-> 10 subitems
    3-> 15 subitems
    4-> 15 subitems
    5-> 7 subitems
    6-> 26 subitems
    7-> 3 subitems
    8

    Now I wonder if I should limit the amount of items in the main-menu to only the most popular items and move the rest to either the footer or just not list them on all pages and only on the category page they belong to?

    Reducing links from menus is always a good idea from a SEO point of view.
    Mega menus tend to reduce your link juice too much effecting the inner pages ability to rank well.

    So unless its really needed then I would remove the menu item.

    header footer it dont matter, the page has 188 links on it which is way too many for a home page.
    It used to be the case google only used to to use the first 100, this has changed in recent years but even so the limit of 100 links should really be the maximum choice for a user.

    I cant read the language on the site but I am sure a lot of the menu options could be combined and then give further options on the pages that they link too.
