One Line Site links, scallable methods, ID html links or Sub Category URLs

    Hi,

I have posted a the same question on G webmaster forums:

    https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/W_pIWdaMDvo;context-place=forum/webmasters

    My question, if I have a very competitive online space 'luxury accommodation' which method should be used to almost guarantee one line site links;

    One page with ID links
    or
Main page with sub category pages. This will also not allow "Jump to Somatology Salary" in the SERP snippet.

What do you call online site links made with HTML internal ID links. Does Google have a word for it?

They're called one page sites/single page sites, you can see a load of templates here: (https://themeforest.net/search?utf8=...errer=homepage)

There's a reasonable article here: Single Page Websites & SEO

Hi both, thanks for answers. Here are some details:

    Two scenarios:

    Scene 1:

    www.website.com/cape-town/

This page will contain long form content and will house all the sub keywords for the 'cape town' such as; 'cape town villas', 'cape town apartments', 'cape town penthouses'. The goal SEO goal for the page would be to rank top 3 for the main keyword 'cape town accommodation' and for the sub keywords, which are also rather competitive.

This will be done with long form content with all of the sub keywords in <h2> and paragraph text below each. At the top of the page will be HTML ID links to each sub keyword paragraph.

Such a page will look like this in Google SERP: https://www.google.co.za/?gws_rd=ssl...atology+salary ||| check the first result with one line site links and a "jump to" link. Maximum usage of SERP real state for one entry.

Scene 2: Example: Cape Town Accommodation

Creating additional sub category URLs for sub keywords:

    www.website.com/cape-town/
    www.website.com/cape-town/villas/
    www.website.com/cape-town/apartments/
    www.website.com/cape-town/penthouses/

    Additional info:

We have about 10 primary areas, with each about 5 sub categories(keywords)

Using scene 1 will make internal linking easy, back-linking easy, all weight goes behind the main area page.

I am not sure what I am asking. But what do you think?

Thanks for the link ThomasHarvey, that helped.

My personal preference is Scene 2, it means that the page can be tailored specifically to that subject.

Normally I would also go for scene 2, but these days with LSI a page can rank for a few moderately competitive terms.

Scene two would also be the safest way.

I work as an in-house seo and its really frustrating not being able to another SEO person.

    Thanks

I've got to think from a user point of view too, if I were looking for apartments I wouldn't be interested in just a single page with everything.

    Yeah for-sure,

Scene one could cater for that in such a way:

    - Search query "cape town villas"
    - User is presented with /cape-town/ page with HTML ID links of all the sub keywords. User sees ID link 'cape town villas'
    - The page auto scrolls down to the 'cape town villas' paragraph with 6 popular properties and a view more option.
    - If user wants to go back up, there will be a clearly visible floating button to go back to top.

Onsite elements is also different for both scenes: example:

    Scene 1
Meta title: Cape town Accommodation | Villas, Apartments, Penthouses -Brand name

    Scene 2
Meta title: Cape Town Accommodation - Brand Name

I would go for Scene 1 but ultimately it seems like the online SERP luxury accommodation industry in the areas we cover is atm not super competitive, but it will become and at that point all sub keywords might require their own URLs to be able rank top 3.

Why don't you mock them up and run through the feel of them, as for me to spend my money personally I would be wanting enough information on the page about each specific subject. With three on one page I feel that may be a problem as the page could get very large.

    Hi ThomasHarvey

I have done what you said and drawn a wire-frame for Scene 2, creating sub category pages. This option is just more scalable.

How do I send you an PDF?

The page is /cape-town/ with primary keyword: cape town accommodation

    What do you think?
