    No Follow on product category pages after first page

    Should I noindex, follow product category pages of e-commerce store after the first category page?

    For example:

    http://storename.com/categoryname/ - indexed

    http://storename.com/categoryname/page-1 - noindex, follow

    http://storename.com/categoryname/page-2 - noindex, follow

    ....

    etc.

    The idea is not to index a lot of unnecessary category pages and focus only on main category page and on a every product of the website.
    What is your opinion?

    Seems like a waste to me?

    I mean, I might be wrong. There's guys on here with a huge amount of knowledge in E-commerce, but it doesn't seem like a good idea in my mind

    Edit: Chedders replied just before I clicked enter, but he's one of the people with "a huge amount of knowledge in E-commerce".

    So the right way is to use:

    <link href="https://storename.com/category/page-2" rel="canonical">
    <link href="https://storename.com/category" rel="prev">
    <link href="https://storename.com/category/page-3" rel="next">

    Thanks a lot!

    well I would have thought your page 1 is wrong but the theory is correct

    <link href="https://storename.com/category/page-2" rel="canonical">
    <link href="https://storename.com/category/page-1" rel="prev">
    <link href="https://storename.com/category/page-3" rel="next">
