    New Site - Duplicate Content?

Hello! I am rebranding an existing store and the new website on the new domain will feature the
exact same products as the old store.

I am planning to keep the old domain/shop around until the new one is established.

In addition, there is lots of value-added 'how to' info on the old store, which brings traffic to the website and which I would like to keep on both old and new sites.

    Question:
What do I need to do to ensure that neither store will be penalized.
Do I need to 'reinvent the wheel' and create brand-new content?
Or is it enough to reword/rephrase the existing 'how tos'?
Do I also have to change products descriptions and meta tags in the new store?

    Thank you for your input.

    Cheers

You should add new fresh and unique content, and add new meta tag and title regarding your keyword. If you add the old content then it will be taken as duplicate content. So try to avoid this.
