    Question Local Vs. National Ranks

So, in efforts to push a locally operating, nationally servicing client into national ranking we have written a lot of content with several different high search volume keywords, with pages dedicated to those keywords, without local tails..

The site is ranking locally for the keyword+location tail
but not anywhere for just the keyword..

Anyone have any tips or ideas on how to extend from local ranks to national ranks?

    Hi mounjr18

Basically the answer is more of it. Ranking locally is normally fairly easy as the location part of the query is quite unique so easier to rank for. Moving out on a national basis though requires a lot more effort. You need to start gaining links from good reputable sites to boost your authority so that you become the authority for the product or service your offering.
Back that up with a good structured website with good relevant content and you will start to see gains.

Its normally a slow process if your keyword is competitive so don't expect a over night jump
