Post How to start Backlinking for a huge website? My competitor has 66M SEO traffic per mo

Hi, I know the basics of SEO. But I'm not sure how big websites achieve there results. For example
    my competitor has 66M+ search traffic/mo. I have 30K/mo.

    My competitor website is: putlocker.is
    My website is: movierill.com

Putlocker doesn't have much text content. Whatever it has is mostly scraped movie overviews. Yet 66M visits/mo.

On research I know now, It's 2.5 years old only. And has 25K BLs, from 1.3K domains.

If you look both the websites, you'll realize my website is much more usable,
ad free, user friendly, complete in every aspect. I'm having hard time doing SEO on it because I don't know where to start with BLing.

My website has been up for 2 months. 800 google visits/day, 8-10 brand searches.

I want to achieve similar results as my competitor in the next 2 years. But at minimum in the next 12 months
I should be able to get at least 1M google visits/mo.

With that goal in mind, how should I start to build links. Should I advertise? Should I buy links?
I have over 26K pages indexed on google. Building links manually to each of the 9K movie pages itself would be
    a big task.

So I mostly have two questions, keeping those aformentioned goals in mind.
    1. Where to start?
    2. Any service I should buy or you would like to recommend?

Thanks for taking time to read my long post.

Unfortunately, I don't know the shortcuts... Never knew... High-quality link building is either time-consuming or expensive (or both)
In your industry, it seems like direct outreach to the bloggers makes sense. As well as meaningful discussion board interactions...

Your site looks obviously higher-quality... It needs a bit of outbound work... Maybe approaching website owners asking for their opinion on your ratings and offering them to write what they think about it... Talking to niche bloggers may discover some opportunities for you (partnerships, mutual help, etc) for larger-scale link building...

On an unrelated note, some of its linkable assets ("best of", "new", etc.) lack unlinked content for Google to craw and index...

Everything will be ok in the end

If it's not ok, it's not the end
