    Google search results and meta-description

    Hi, I have just stared to learn about SEO. This is not my specialization, just for getting more knowledge.
    I've recently created my personal website, but already got some problems and questions about SEO.

    Consider the following link

    <snipped link>

    I have set the meta description to
    <meta name="description" content="Install the latest Apache server on your Centos 7 system to get latest features of the most popular open source web server."/>
    But in Google Results it is displayed like that

    I have read that the Google Search Engine automatically decides where to take the meta description.

    In addition consider the following example.

    I have category

    <snipped link>

    But the content of the first post in the category is displayed as the short description in Google Search results
    instead of the content of the meta-description tag.

    Is there any way to solve the mentioned problems ? I don't want to create a post content specifically for
    Search Engines, I want it to be readable, that is mentioned in a lot of guidelines nevertheless crawler
    thinks differently.

    I would be grateful for any help, advice or suggestions.

    If you have a content rich page do not be afraid to let Google create the snippet. They will match the text with the query and you'll find you will get a better CTR. Most of my sites don't even have the description tag.

    Thank you so much for the answer. I have just started to learn SEO. Could you please suggest some good books and articles to read. Because SEO guidelines are constantly changing, so there are a lot of out of date stuff.

    Thank you.

    Yes.If you have content rich site it is great then.You can do one thing more if you want to display the exact content in Google use fetch and render tool in Google search console if you have it already there.You can also submit your xml sitemap and wait if that works
