    Smile global hreflang x-default

    Hello,

    i need some advice regarding the hreflang x-default settings. My Website is complete in Englisch. I target all Users worldwide. I did an SEO check, and the Warning was, that no Language value is set. After checking some posts, i found the option to set the x-default, like this:

    <link rel="alternate" hreflang="x-default" href="http://example.com/" />

    My question is, should i set this value to the head of my website for the SEO purpose?

    Thanks a Lot!

    Best Regards
    Sally

    If I understand your question correctly, you need to have it in the head section of the page.

    Thanks for the reply. I checked the link https://webmasters.googleblog.com/20...nal-pages.html

    Bit i get confused, from this point:

    • Example Domain: The homepage shows users a country selector and is the default page for users worldwide

    my Homepage show no country selector, is Englisch and target Users Worldwide, should i use the Value anyhow in the head?

    thx

    Here is the problem, I thought you just made a typo Englisch so ignored it (I make many) but I see you have done it again. Not being funny but if your attempting to target English speaking countries you need to learn how to spell it.
    Hreflang is used to help with the many different spellings of words that differ from country to country and also currencies. If your not offering different versions of your content then adding hreflang or the x-default is going to be pointless.
