Exclamation Do keyword modifiers affect your chance of ranking for the original keyword?

    Okay,

I have a quick questions with regards to keyword research.

Let's say my keyword is "Marketing News" which has a SV of 1000.

On the other hand, "content marketing news" has a SV of 50.

Let's say I'm creating a section on my blog entitled "content marketing news" - will this allow me to rank for both content marketing news and marketing news? (Provided the blog is authoritative etc).

I am guessing SV stands for search volume.

Yes you can rank for both content marketing news and marketing news. Anyway, EDM is no longer as important as before when it comes to ranking keywords.

Even if you do not have your target kws within your domain name, you can still rank for these keywords as long as you have properly optimized your homepage. Like for example, placing your target keywords in your meta tag title, within your content, and of course building your keywords around really good content.
