    Unhappy Change Slug Once the Post Published


    Hello Everyone,

    My question is, does it make any issue if i changed the post url once it gets published? what i need
    to care before changing the post slug? thanks in advance

    If the URL has been crawled/indexed, you should add a 301 redirect to your .htaccess file (which will redirect everyone to the new url).
    If you pick the problem up shortly after creating the post (before it's likely to be indexed) you can just change it and not worry. You can also monitor google search console to see if the old url appears as 404 (not found) and then - if it does - add a redirect. Personally, if I change a slug/url a few hours after creating it, I would just add the 301 rdr.

    Use 301 redirect if you are changing the slug otherwise, your traffic will be dropped.
