Exclamation Can I copy my own articles from my old blog to new?

    Hello all,

I am not an expert, but consider myself one :-) I have ran into an issue on one of my blog and now I am planning to move all my articles (70) to my fresh new blog. I'll delete those articles from my old blog after I am done with transition.

    My question is,
Will Google consider it as plagiarism ? I have domain authority for both the blogs.

Is it advisable to do it? Because each article is almost 300+ words and writing them all again is such a pain.

    Thanks in advance.

You would be competing with yourself while the 2 pages are live but once deleted the new site will be the only source for the post.
There is no plagiarism penalty or duplicate content penalty so it should not be an issue, the new site may just not rank as well as the original source if the 2 sites are left running. If possible it would be better to 301 redirect the old posts to the new site so if they have any page rank that would be passed over as well as the content.

It depends on your system but a 301 is if someone lands on the page it redirects them automatically to a new page.
This has the added benefit of transferring any page rank to the new page which will help the new page rank. .

if your using wordpress you can add a rule to your htacess file.
A google search found this page which appears to talk you though it. Setting up a permanent 301 redirect via .htaccess - InMotion Hosting
I am not a big wordpress user so cant confirm the best way of achieving this but others here should be able to help if your stuck.

Thanks for such valuable info. I am quite a good reader and so I'll go through the resources you have given.

Meanwhile, I'll also wait for someone to throw some light on the discussion.
