Post Basic SEO audit in 10 steps guide

So I feel i'm at the point in my studying where if someone asked me to do a basic seo audit for to access the seo equity of their website, I
would be able to! It's very basic, but I write a 10 step guide on the most important starting steps. Let me know what you think as i'm
interested to know if i'm on the right track!

    - Analyse the website's content and list keyword opportunities which appear frequently.
    - Check URL structure (shorter, readable and more memorable url structures are better).
    - Add titles/meta descriptions to all pages.
    - Analyse internal/external links.
    - Optimise images to include alt tags.
    - Check for duplicate site content, broken links, code quality (structure and empty code), mobile-friendliness and page load speed.
    - Backlink profile for quality and risk potential.
    - Access authority and trust scores.
    - Review their social media presence and signals.
    - Construct a competitive backlink analysis.

My knowledge is from MOZ and seo for growth.

Also why are all my threads auto moving to this category? Is it because i'm a new member? This post doesn't seem appropriate for this category.

Yes, the category is 'new users ....'

Have you ever done practical SEO, or are you still only learning through the theory side?

    edit: beaten to it ^

How is your forum ranking for it's primary keywords ??

That would be an indicator of how well you are doing.

What people will primary search is animal crossing forum or forums, i come up about 4th or 5th i think. I have 2 main competitors who have been around alot longer than i have. Ive been trying to create a unique selling point so people would want to use mine over others but i think my inbound marketing is failing as not many people seem to know alot of the big features we have lol google the Sapling forums

I see the biggest problem without even going through your list, you have 158 members, how many of them are active 'I don't know' The users posting content will take care of most of it, How you enforce the forum rules, keep it interesting and gather a large interested group will do it. Add moderators to help with the process, you won't find a popular forum without a good moderator group.
Forums are one of the first social media platform and still very popular.
    Good luck

Yea this is the major issue which gets me down alot. I've put so much effort into the forum over the past 3 years and I feel like i'm "talking with myself". I've done multiple events to get people involved, introduced loads of exciting features like a roleplaying section with collectible animal crossing related fish/bugs which automatically display on your profile when you find them, a HUGE acnl database of every single item which was hand coded, profile badges to earn, groups to join...to note a few. I feel like i put tons of work in and no one bothers to post.

I think it speaks volumes that my forum is so high in google despite it having next to no activity.

That phrase isn't one I'd work towards, which might be the reason for low attendance
What is the forum about? I don't get a clear indication what it's about even after looking at it. I think you might have set it up wrong.

Oh really? that's not good. It's an animal crossing based forum. It even says animal crossing in the title in the window tab...It's also in alot of the category names but that's something I haven't considered. I was going to add a call to action under the banner, image links that show the biggest parts of the forum. I think to animal crossing players they would know instantly what the forum is about but you're right, I need to make it obvious to someone who knows nothing about it.

In this particular case I think a bit of Facebook advertising could help you boost the numbers.

Nobody wants to join an empty forum.
