Wierd stuff in the SERPs!

There is some wiered stuff going on in the SERPs for the last
couple of days. My site was in the top 5 for both widget, widgets and blue widget, blue widgets. ( Plural/Singular form). As of yesterday I was dropped (about 30 places) on the singular
form, but actually started to do better for the plural form.

I will keep you updated on any changes in the near future.

P.S: no optimization has been done in the last week for this site.
and MSNbot crawls daily, so it isn't an index update issue.

Maybe MSN is starting to give more weigth to precise link anchor text. It would be interesting to post ( if you can ) if you have more links poiting to your page using the singular or the plural of the word.

<speculation>
MSN is said to have implemented a couple of specific "on-page" rules in their algo recently. Could be that your site/page was already accidentally optimised for those (for the plural term)
</speculation>

Take another close look.

PS: don't PM me your site/keyword: it's not my intention to collect 19 bucks from everyone here... ;)

My site was optimized mainly for the plural form of my keyword.
Until recently I was in the top 5 for "widgets", but now am completely dropped for it.

Most of my BL anchor text contain, in one way or another, the plural form of my main keyword.

It could be both what Wit stated regarding the implementation of a couple of "on-page" rules within MSN's algorithm and the tweaking of the algo in regards to the precise anchor text stuff I was talking about yesterday.
