Hi

I have had a site online for about well "years". It constantly recieved 200 uniques a day from MSN. Than a few weeks ago MSM dissapeared. I just cannot figure out what went wrong. I made no major changes to the site. I only have been adding links. Any help would be appreciated you can see the site here: sheetmusicweb.com

MSN rankings are volatile. You go up and down a bit from my experience - unless you have overwhelming link strength and good onpage factors. Do you run logs to see the KWs your traffic comes from - have your rankings changed or are you missing completely? New ads above the organic SERPs for those KWs. Someone else with fantastic titles compared to yours.

Re site

Everything as far as i know is good yes i have keyword research. I just disappeared under the keywords at MSN. As far as i can see my rank has not changed. I did offer a link exchange and was told i have alexa links on my page. They said to put a no follow or get rid of them. Im just not sure what there talking about.

I had no idea i had such a link on my pages. Just to be honest not sure. Im still ranking the same in YAHoo.

Lost

A few weeks ago i would have had a perfect answer for you because i know every little bit of msn and could do anything and get any keyword.

Certain sectors of keywords and certin markets have been just nuked by msn and things have changed a lot.

Hopefully in the next few weeks it will go back to normal.

Red face

Exactly the same has happened to me - 6 weeks now and I have had no msn traffic after 6 years. Did nothing different, just regularly adding pages of content (unique), some of which were small and some full articles..

Hoping things will just bounce back in the near future for both of us....

"Volatile" ... this is the word that best describes the way MSN works. For a few days I had a blog ranking on page #7 for the hardest word in it's industry with an internal page ( not the index page that is much better optimized < both on-page & off-page > for it ). The traffic wasn't much but it was impressive to see it comming, althought sales weren't as good as expected ( of course, there are many factors in regards to this matter but won't discuss them here ).

Now, that spot plus another 10+ for other keywords that blog's pages were ranking for are gone. New spots for quite hard keywords show up ( of course, other pages of the blog, not those that were ranking good few days ago ).

So, bottom line, don't worry much about MSN, good spots will show up in time with hard legit work ;)
