Question Need Urgent Help - Site not getting Indexed

Hi,

I want some expert views from you guzz..

Well the situation is as below:

I have a website performing very well in Google & Yahoo. Site indexing is more than 4,000 pages in Google & Yahoo.

But when I check the indexing in MSN, it shows only 150 pages.

So, the problem is with MSN indexing.

Can anyone please tell me what is the problem behind it & also suggest me how I can increase the indexing stats in MSN??

Khali

Is it necessary? So we should just neglect MSN, isn't it? Isn't it possible to recieve a considerable traffic from MSN?

I think forumtyrone is right.

If you rank in the first position for your targeted keyword in MSN, still you will get maximum 5% of your total search engine traffic from it.

When we are not getting good return from MSN why we should devote time to it.
In that place we should concentrate more on Google.

Well this is totally based on my experience, others may have different opinion on it.

I think Question asked by Great Khali in this thread is still not answered and discussion has lead to some other topic.
I'm also very curious to know as I'm also facing some problems in MSN indexing.

5 Tips to Get Indexed in Google, Yahoo, and MSN:

* Use RSS Feeds- This allows your viewers to get notified everytime your content is updated.

* Social Bookmarking- Allows you to post your website into your favorites list; awesome to get indexed quickly and receive backlinks.

* Forum Participation- Everytime you join a forum relevant to your website, leave your website in the signature which creates backlinks.

* Website Submissions- Do a search in google for search engine friendly submission sites for your website. This will allow you to register with search engines.

* Write A Press Release- I have gotten indexed very quickly from writing PR's and is an awesome way to get backlinks because your PR will get picked up by many other websites.

Basically I would say Yes to this. MSN really likes fresh content. Even more frequently than Yahoo or Google do. I had a site that was ranked #1 on MSN for over a year for very competitive search terms and with almost no updating. Even though my site ranking was awesome, had tons of useful info, and the average stay for each visitor was exceptional, the site was dropped almost completely from the index. All but two pages. Those two pages were nowhere to be found for any of the search terms that my site once had a top ranking for.

I also believe that MSN has just massively tightened up their duplicate content filter as well as possibly limiting sites that make use of too many frames.

To get back into the index, I just redid massive content on the index page and meta data on the most important 2nd tier pages of the site and it was recrawled and indexed again in short order.
