Are you under the impression that your website has been optimized for search? That is not the case. I hope your haven't paid some SEO scammer for this job because no professional SEO work at all has been done on your site. Specifically, it is not optimized for the search phrase that you mention (with its Google search volume of 9,900/month). Sticking the phrase in the title tag is a nice move but not nearly enough, because everybody does it. You rank well on Yahoo for that phrase because Yahoo pays closer attention to a combination of keyowrds in domain name, URL, title tag and meta tags. Google works in more subtle ways. In fact, it would be much easier for you to quickly optimize your site to rank at the top for "belly scarf" (Google search volume of 14,800 /month) than for the search phrase that you mentioned. You already rank 6th on Google for "belly scarf" thanks to your domain name, and it would be easy to move you to the top for that search with a few techniques. More importantly, there are a whole big bunch of related search phrases for which your site should be optimized, but is not.
In a word, you need to hire a quality professional SEO to provide detailed SEO specifications. Last edited by PhilipSEO : November 30th, 2009 at 12:59 AM. Reason: to comply with forum rules |

Philip... SEOChat is for helping people learn how to do SEO. It is not a forum for soliciting business.
So, if you want to help people please continue posting. If you are here to solicit business and drop links to your own website then you should find another forum. Also, based upon your previous postings.... it would be best to learn more about SEO before you start selling your services to others. Just giving you very honest information on how this forum works and my opinion on the qualifications for paid SEO.

Withdrawn, your honor, I didn't know it was against the rules. So here are my two cents then to atone a bit for this sin.
Vkarish, EGOL's implication is right, learning correct SEO is fully an option. The first thing to understand is that there are the following stages of SEO: (1) keyword strategy optimization (find the high-volume, targeted, relevant search keywords for your market niche); (2) on-page optimization (content, design, URL, navigation, link, HTML and code optimization); (3) on-site optimization (much in the same categories, but for robust sites there are sometimes additional requirements of content delivery and performance optimization) and (4) off-site optimization (link growing, including attempts at getting listed in the top directories such as the Yahoo Business Directory and dmoz.org). I would suggest you start with keyword research. There are many resources on the Web that explain how to do it. You can also use a tool like KeywordSpy to easily find out your competitors' keywords. Once you have developed your own keyowrd list, create a Google AdWords campaign with conversion tracking. Test your keywords on AdWords. This process defines the list of your top-converting keywords. Use this list to create pages optimized for those top keywords. Find out the principles of on-page optimizations (Keyowrds in URL, title, <h#>tags; emphasis, keywords in link anchor text etc. Interlink your pages internally with keywords in the anchor text. Do not use any of the obsolete techniques (now considered bl@ck h@t SEO) such as keyword stuffing, hidden text, page cloaking, don't try to deceive the search engines. These techniques no longer work and will get your site in trouble. Once the website itself is optimized for keywords, or while it is being optimized, carefully research good linking practices and develop backlinks. On the web, always check the date and only read the most current/correct SEO information, because SEO changes to a significant degree practically every year. There is a bit more to it than I have described, and you may get faster results by hiring a professional. Remember, SEO is not the only way to drive traffic to your site, and you should explore others too. If you want to "monetize" products or services online though, SEO is the way to go. I hope this helps a bit, and good luck. Last edited by PhilipSEO : November 30th, 2009 at 08:06 AM. Reason: a small pedantic correction |

It is amazing how a post like you just made will often result in a offer of work. And, once you accumulate a lot of reputation points you will receive even more offers of work.
If you look at the people with the highest reputation on this forum you will find that many of them do not do SEO for others. They recommend others here who are generous and competent posters - because they know them and trust their judgement - based upon their posting. Keep up the great posts. Cheers! |

Being an ordinary member of the public, I have no idea how to belly dance, where it originated from, where you can watch it (online & real-world), who's the best at it, it's history, what you wear when doing it, etc.
Bearing in mind I haven't actually looked at your site, why not develop some excellent articles, tutorials and videos on belly dancing - and people will be so excited about having a go, they'll be desperate to wear the scarf when doing so! Write some great linkbait and attract visitors that way, and hopefully it'll aid in getting traffic, sales and links. Good luck! Dan

2 Months is very new. My sites don't show for much when they are at that age. However, don't worry this is a common phenomena. Just concentrate on building links and growing your site, and things will fall in to place. You should start to see the benefits after 6 months to a year of hard work.
I emphases that you should install analytics to measure whether you are winning or not. Over a period the charts should show growth.

Google, Yahoo and Bing are all different search engines and since your website is newly launched, achieving top Yahoo and Bing rankings could be possible but the Google story could be very different. It is claimed that new websites would be waiting in a state called Sandbox for some months before beginning to enjoy the juice of the links pointing at them already and this adds to the Google SEO complexities.
