MSNbot and 302 Redirect

MSNbot and 302 Redirect

I recently renamed a page which was previously crawled by msnbot. However, msnbot continues to show up requesting the old page. My site runs off ASP.NET which does a redirect to a friendly error page if a missing page is requested (i.e. on a 404 sends a 302).

Is this grounds for penalty? How is this sort of issue typically best handled? I also noticed one of my pages reverted back to an old snapshot recently. Strange.
