MSN Vs Google

Hello Friends,
Why does some sites rank well in MSN but Not in Google. What are the factors which leads to such behavior. Do any of you have answer for this.
Please, Let me know.

Google believed in 'search' long before Microsoft [MSN].

Google started '98, MSN started '05...

Any company investing in research since '98 [continuing to today] has a wealth of experience that a company only starting in '05 isn't privy to.

If you are looking for much more tangible "how to" info - might I suggest start reading @ Google Optimization forum as a way to appreciate better questions to ask.

OK just found the reason y it happened..

1. The Keyword you chose is not at all competetive.. so your website has come on number 2 in MSN for "Study Pune"

2. With just 10 Backlinks you cant survive on MSn for a long time.

3. You dont have even a single back link on google. Your PR has dropped from PR-3 to Zero

4.Your site seems relatively newer to have ranks on google.

If u want to maintain top ranking in MSN you need lots of backlinks, while for google u need quality in every section of ur job whether Content, Backlink, Linking structure or every thing u do in the process of optinmisation of your site.

The problem with these comments they are rather 'vague' and anyone not willing to "learn" [they only want the silver spoon] you do them more harm than good.

1. quality content - one goes out and grab a few 1000 pages of other peoples "GREAT" content... THERE - DONE! [that will kill your website

2. quality links - one goes out and gets 100's of PR8 sitewide links... and Google will ignore them

3. every thing u do in the process of optinmisation of your site... this implies "KNOWING" everything...

Thus they need to read ALOT or they will merely screw themselves.

Sometimes it is better to help -- by making them read rather than spoon feeding.

Oh!!! Now I understood that how did U get 2,837 Posts & title . By adding Up Such comments into the forum.

to bad you don't actually read a few - particularly those where the member actually ask a question that has a desirable answer.

Actually wasim there is no magic bullet for getting a top ranking on google .. You have to work hard and learn to remain patience.. I have come across many beginers how try to reach the summit within few days and end up messing up everything.. And the ranking that would have taken months now takes years for them.. So just read and understand what the seo basically is ..

It will be better if u implement same on u,You was the first member who replied very first to this thread and the post had nothing to do with the question asked by wasim_@_drushti.

Can U Suggest me some sites, books or Articles where i can get valueable information. There are too many articles on the net. I am confused

the second part I ignored simply because if you can't fathom why Google & MSN ranks sites differently - you need to do a bit of reading here first.

While I can appreciate ones desire to be spoon feed - if you can't read previously posted information to gain a miniscule appreciation - how will rewriting it help?

Should a person ask: how a title element is use in MSN and Google? - MSN will use up to 74 chararcters as weighing criteria for rankings where Google will only use 66. While Google "uses" 66 it is better for ranks to use a minimal as 'more' dilutes results where is MSN, the more the better.

Course that wasn't asked. There are 85,663 threads with 344,645 posts and a search function for the "I want to know it all" rather than waiting for 5 hours to get a response.
