MSN vs Google

Has anyone noticed how fast Msn is updating vs Google? Google just keeps updating the same pages over and over. I put up a new page and MSN indexed and had it in SERPS in 2 days. Google still hasn't found it after 2 weeks.

Yeah it would be great if I received any decent traffic from MSN.

MSN is a pain. I tried to get a prefferred site listing, big bucks, They wouldn't give it to me because I only have a location in NEW YOrk they said that I was a local company and not worthy. B.S. I cater to people all over the country plus I've got the money to give them. When I lower my ppc's MSN results virtually go away. Also do a search for drug rehab in MSN. Whitney Houston comes up all over the first page. What about the people looking for help? MSN is not going to use looksmart anymore in 2004.
"With LookSmart listings no longer being used, MSN will now rely completely on Inktomi listings for its search results."-Site Pro News
Hopefully this may help the results.

I'm getting more clicks from MSN serps than from Google Adwords. I didn't even submit to MSN. I just put up the site and set up adwords for the next 2 months because this was a holiday toy. Was checking my tracker and saw all the hits from MSN. What a nice surprise.

I don't see that with MSN at *all*... It has not found new pages after 3 months... and the pages it does have are about 4 months out of date.

MSN is useless to me. Google and Yahoo is the focus.

I have never heard of MSN beating Google in traffic. Strange. I can't get good SERPs on MSN even if i try.

MSN really depends on how competitive your keywords are. If you've got a nice Inktomi ranking and your keywords aren't competitive, you can get some nice traffic from MSN. If they are competitive, though, you'll find the first couple of pages are swamped with "sponsored" listings, mostly Looksmart, I think.

Gringo.

I have been averaging 30 hits on my little one pager. Not sure what my larger sites are getting. I have been happy with results from MSN. I get high serps on most of my keywords. The SERPS are real close to Google's serps too.

Based on my experience, I got more visitors and sales from MSN than either AOL or AllTheWeb. I don't know if you all agree with me, I think, I give Google number 1, Yahoo, number 3, and MSN number 3 to target...we all know that Microsoft wants to build a new search engine to compete with Google in the near future...just imagine what might happen in the future....

From the results I'm seeing from MSN I think that effort has already started. My new page was indexed and appeared in serps within 2 days after launch.

After a closer inspection of my log files it has come to my attention that MSN provides me with around %15 of my traffic. I am still not happy with the results of MSN searches. The keyword by engine logs indicate that MSN provides results with larger keyword phrases than do other engines. Also I was very disappointed that they refused my proposal for a preffered site listing based on where I was located. %15 is what it is though and they are who they are, so Optimization and placement with them is important. Also the future could hold rewards if we get a good foothold there now.

WOW 15% thats pretty good. Mine is a whooping 0.01% for MSN while Google is 77%. I think I'll focus on Google LOL
