MSN top positions

Why it is much easier to get top msn position than google or yahoo positions? When they crawl web, they see the same links, the same webpages, the same contest. How come i got top 10 msn positions in six weeks and where websites who is top 10 on google. Why they are not top 10 on msn if they much better? Who can explain???

this is a very easy question... well the only thing you need to rank in msn in almost any keyword is get tons of tons of links....Lets say this: if you get 1 000 000 links in one day you probably be rank the day before mins (sarcastic... little humor).

In yahoo its almost the same formula but content and here you need to have better link quality...

In google you will need old links that have a good quality (this mean, links that are not violating any google's link terms, like black hat, hidden text, ect)... that is the most important thing, but also this helps: text content, age, pagerank (not for rankings, this is only for google to update text content), good site estructure (this in terms of like if its in php, that the site is not dynamic php, or had program issues), and the most important thing of all.... PATIENCE, no seo article say this but they should include this...

And also the second part of the post that say something like why people rank in top in google but not msn... well if you get a ton of links to rank in google well that will be very silly, why? because google likes quality and age, not if you are the most popular guy been link to... so you may be first in msn but not google and at the same time be top google and not in msn...

I had seen that if you get a ton of links for msn and yahoo it will rank you higher than having few quality links like you will have for google.

And its weird you are not number one in msn, but of what i had seen for msn the more backlinks you got the better ranking you will have....

MSN does rely on onsite optimization as well. But MSN does count nearly any backlink to your site so it is generaly the massive amounts of backlinks which will gain top MSN positions.
You also said They all crawl the web and see the same links.... They do but they each treat them different. Google has a very unique algo which is still a mystery to us. Google counts in the amount of backlinks but mainly how important each backlink is. A link from a casino site to a religous site will not do much for you on google but on MSN even such a link might improve your rankings.

Url

In my experience MSN ranks sites higher if the url matches the search phrase and it is influenced more by on page seo.

I found that for websites like Casino, Real Estate or Free iPod it is hard to get good pagerank from google. Even if they have 15 PR5 backlinks, they still can't jump more than PR3, but for unique websites such as "Ants popularity in South-West of Massachussets" it is enough to have one or two PR4 backlinks to get PR4.
I know a website who got only one backlink PR4, One backlink PR5 (Link Farm) and 5-7 backlinks PR0. Guess what? They are PR3 and it is almost impossible to find website with the same topic because it is very narrow high-technology website.

imho, Google doesn't show ALL backlinks to the page... I think site with PR4 has more in-degrees than "one or two PR4".
PR has independence from keyphrase...

Sory, maybe my post has orphographical mistakes (i'm from Belarus)

If I can try to answer your original question, different search engines use differnt algorithms. Naturally, they are going to give different results too.

What makes MSN look easier is the fact that they dont give much importance to the age factor - that of site and that of links. So, you can see faster results in MSN, for any SEO work. Also, MSN seems to be bit easy on the quality of the sites linking as well.
Why something appears in TOP 10 in google and why not MSN - thats probably not very difficult to understand. There is no definition for good sites and not so good sites. Differnt search engines interpret it differently!
