I was #1 in MSN for awhile I lost some links and dropped last month. Seems to focus a lot more on keywords and still uses MEtA Tags. As for the ASK. HMMM I figure even If I get 1 hit a week from ask it is still 1 potential view or sale. Get enough of those small sites and they add up.

Do you think I need to look at the ask forum?

Good information. I checked our logs for the last 2 months. 2100+ google, 1300+ yahoo, 400+ msn. Actually our yahoo activity is skewed upward because we are #1 on one popular keyword phrase.

"Zeal no longer matters...when MSN dropped Looksmart, it would appear as though the Zeal listings lost their relevence."

I do not think this is right. I see some listings pulled directly from zeal for my sites..

MSN uses the Yahoo index with a twist on the ranking formula, so you can just rely on the Yahoo free crawl.

Overture is just for pay per click ads on their sites) not the general content.

Does it matter now? Isn't MSN about to launch their own search engine like by the end of this year (in 2 months or so?). Let's wait until then, look at their results, and optimize to that. Anything now would be lost when the new engine is put into place.

Overture will still be offering their pay per click for the mean time but they are providing their own content now.. Just not PPC

Hello vord.
"Does everyone else get a lot of referrers from ask?

That is roughly my percentage as well.
